Expedition Description

The expedition for the Andrea Doria will depart from Point Judith, Rhode Island on Sunday, July 28 at 5 am and return to Point Judith on Monday, July 29 at 8 pm.

All expedition members must report to the boat on July 27 by 9 pm.

Dives will be conducted from the John Jack, a new 55' vessel inspected for passengers.
The vessel is complete with bunks, galley and head for use by all expedition members.

This expedition includes all meals (light breakfast, lunch and dinner) as well as
air fills from the boats compressor.


Expedition Fees and Policies

The price for this expedition is $800.00 USD.
Includes: all meals and air fills.
It does not include nitrox or trimix fills.

Each diver is limited to 3 sets of doubles and six stage bottles.
Divers may pre-mix bottles and air top during the expedition.  All necessary
transfill whips and gas mixing apparatus is the responsibility of the individual.

A non-refundable deposit of $450.00 is due upon reservation and no later than January 10, 2002.

Balance of $350.00 is due on July 1, 2002

Refund Policy:

Northern Atlantic Dive Expediti
ons is offering a $400.00 refund (50% of the charter fare) for cancellations
arising from inclimate weather or mechanical failures which prevent us from reaching only the wreck of the Andrea Doria.

Should the weather prevent us from diving the Andrea Doria but not other wrecks,
the charter fare will be reduced to $550.00 and an alternative site will be selected by the Captains and/or Expedition Leaders.

Fuel prices at the time of expedition may warrant a fuel surcharge, which  would not exceed $30 per diver.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations up to January 10 are accepted with forfeiture of the $450.00 deposit.

Cancellations following January 10 are accepted only with payment of $800.00 charter fare.

Liability Release:

Each diver is under his/her own care, custody and control when diving.  Divers must be qualified to make extended
decompression dives in cold water.  The minimum depth of the wreck is 180 fsw and depths can exceed 250 fsw.  The interior has collapsed badly and the wreck is more treacherous than ever.  Divers must have experience diving in conditions similar to those of the Andrea Doria.  Currents can exceed 3 knots and seas generaly average 3 feet. 

Divers must have had a physical exam within one year of the expedition which deems him/her fit for
diving.  In addition all divers must have DAN or equivalent accident insurance.

All divers must fill out and return notarized liability relase waivers no later than July 1, 2002.
These waivers will be provided upon reservation.
Divers must also fill out diver data sheets with pertinent medical histories detailed.
